TF 10 NW WEST DEEPING KING STREET (west side) 10/276 The Red Lion Inn
G.V. II
Public house. Late Cl7 refronted 1795, altered C19, C20. Coursed limestone rubble, ashlar quoins. Collyweston slate roof. Single red brick ridge and gable stacks. 2 storey 4 bay front having off-centre C20 door with to left a pair and to right a single 3 light glazing bar casements. To first floor are 3 smaller similar windows. All openings have timber lintels. Above the central window is an ashlar datestone with initials "RF" and date "1795". To the right is a single storey single bay service block with pantile roof containing a single 3 light window, and beyond to the right is a longer single storey range, also pantiled, now with 2 small fixed lights but originally with a central door now blocked and single breathers to either side. Interior retains chamfered girders.
