LANGCLIFFE SD 86 SW 5/3 Langcliffe Lodge, garden wall, railings and gatepier II
Former gate lodge to Langcliffe Place (qv) now cottage. Dated 1839. Ashlar, slate roof. In the Gothic style of George Webster of Kendal. 1 1/2 storeys, 2 bays. Left-hand gabled porch with round-headed entrance, moulded architrave and keystone. C20 plank door; wooden bargeboards and ridge finial. Ground floor window to right half dormer above with C20 casements. Central ridge stack for 3 flues. Left-hand return has bay window with 2 cross windows. Part of curved garden wall and iron railings survive to south of lodge, and 1 stone gate pier with ball finial.
