Details
BURTON IN LONSDALE WHAITBER SD 67 SE 2/29 Whaitber East Farmhouse (formerly listed 20.2.58 as Whaitber) GV II Farmhouse. Late C18 with c1830s extension at rear. Pebbledash, painted stone dressings, slate roof. 2 storeys, 4 bays. Central staircase plan. Plinth. Entrance to right of centre in gabled Tuscan porch on 2 columns and 2 engaged pilasters. Open pediment over round head; glazed round-headed fanlight and 6 panel door. All windows have plain surrounds, projecting sills and sashes. One to right of door on ground floor, 3 to left of door and 4 on upper floor. Quoins, shaped modillions, kneelers and gable end coping. Gable end and right of centre ridge stacks. Left hand bay is now part of adjoining Whaitber Farmhouse (qv).
