II
Former cotton mill, now paper store. c.1830. Rubble, stone dressings, slate roof.
4 storeys, 13 bays. Left-hand entrance to ground floor; right-hand entrance to winder
stairs. Some windows have original 30 pane lights remaining, rest are C20. Modillions
at eaves right-hand gable end chimney. Inside, each floor is supported on cast-iron
columns. Bolted queen-post roof. To left is late C19 extension. Built by John Protor
who also constructed Protors Row for his workers (not listed).
