Hotel. C16 origins, rebuilt C17 and refronted late C18. Timber-frame core, brick rebuilding and refronting, parapet and gable rendered, plain tile roof. 2 storey, 6 bays. Between LH 2 bays, in RH of centre bay and RH bay early C19 double sashes. In other bays 1/2-glazed doors under moulded flat hoods on carved brackets, those to RH door on round pilasters. On 1st floor five 12-pane sashes, nothing over LH door. Tall rendered parapet, rendered with moulded stone coping and wrought iron sign bracket. Large ridge stack above LH door, and stacks at RH end and behind ridge near early end. At LH end single storey C19 shopfront of central door and sash each side, brick pilasters and moulded cornice. Service wings to rear. Inside C17, C18 and C19 interior, including C17 staircase with turned balusters and moulded handrail.
