Barn and shelter shed, now house. Early C17; restored and converted late C20. Timber-framed with rendered infill on brick base; plain tiled roofs. L-plan; barn part of two framed bays aligned east/west with framed lean-to at east gable end and shelter shed part of four framed bays adjoining to south-east. Part two storeys, part single storey. Framing: former barn has three panels from sill to wall-plate and collar and tie-beam trusses with raking struts. Shelter shed part has two rows of square panels from sill to wall-plate and tie-beam trusses with raking struts. West front elevation: mainly C20 square single-light casements. Gable end of barn part to left has a ground and first floor window; south side of barn part has two ground floor windows, a first floor window and a lean-to porch with a C20 door; three skylights in roof. Shelter shed part has five windows, a glazed door and, at its southern end, a pair of double doors. The build- ings originally belonged to Lower Grinsty Farmhouse (qv) about 30 yards to the south-west. They are included for group value.
