15/30 Nos 15 and 16 (formerly listed Three Cottages opposite 23.4.52 and to N of the old Smithy and occupied by Foster and Gidley

GV II

House, now two shops and offices. Early C18 with mid-C19 and some late C20 alterations. Painted brick with tile roof, gable-end stack. Two storeys with attic lit by two gabled dormers, bands to both floors, brick coped verges; two windows: rubbed brick heads with keystones, with windows below widened, to left a 16-pane sash, to right a 3-light casement; ground floor: two windows: to right a plate glass shop window, to left a 2-pane shop window; roughly central a C19 entrance (to no 16) has a wooden doorcase with fluted pilasters to scroll brackets supporting flat canopy; C20 glazed door; to left-hand corner entrance (to No 15) has a wooden architrave and C20 glazed door. Interior not inspected. Included for group value.
