2/34 Higgins memorial about 28 metres north of north porch of Church of St Mary
GV II
Chest tomb. John Higgins, died 1804. Bold corner balusters decorated with sprigs of wheat, raised inscription panels flanked by husks and paterae, moulded cornice, bevelled top. Inscription: "Sacred to the Memory/ of/ John Higgins/ of this Parish Gent/ he departed this life/ 18th day of April/ 1804, Aged 61 Years/ [at least one more line]." This is a good example of stone masonry and enhances the setting of the church; it contributes to the group value of the other memorials in the churchyard.
