ROCKBOURNE WEST PARK ESTATE SU 11 NW 5/58 Eyre Coote Monument (Formerly listed as Monument 30.9.64 in West Park) II*
Monument. 1827 to General Sir Eyre Coote of West Park, restored late C19 and 1983. Portland stone with marble inscription slabs and cast iron railings. Standing on 3 high steps with railings around is large square plan plinth with marble inscription slabs on 3 sides and door on 4th. 2 step base to Doric column with egg and dart capital. Square viewing platform with railings. In centre tall cylindrical plinth, with door to stairs, surmounted by vase with swags on sides.
