HOCKWOLD CUM WILTON STATION ROAD TL 78 NW 16/26 Hockwold Hall 9.7.51 II House. Early C17 but much altered. Brick with some stone quoining and plain tile roofs. E plan. 2 storeys and attic. Symmetrical north front. 2 storeyed entrance porch with crenellated parapet. C20 door below flat hood. C19 Gothick windows above. Flanking porch to ground floor one C18 2-light cross casement each side. 2 C19 Gothick windows to first floor. Coved timber eaves cornice. Gabled roof with one flat-headed dormer containing casement. East cross wing has first floor string course undulating beneath windows. 4 4-light C17 casements with hollow moulded mullions and renewed leaded lights. North gable wall with 2 similar windows and remainder of C19. Partly external end stack with quadruple diamond flues. West cross wing of similar disposition but all fenestration C19. South front has stepped gable to west. In centre a crenellated octagonal turret with C19 door and windows. External stack to right tapering to quadruple renewed octagonal flues and with wall sundial set into it at first floor level. Fenestration of facade C19 of disparate size and type. Saw tooth eaves cornice. C18 crenellated single storey extension partly obscures left bays. Interior much altered.
