House. Date of 1789 on title deeds; verandah and some fenestration probably mid C19. Colourwashed stone rubble ; hipped slate roof to front block, two span hipped roof to rear ; brick end stacks.
Plan: Double depth plan, two rooms wide with a front door on the left return and a south-facing garden elevation.
Exterior: two storeys. Three-bay garden elevation with a fine six-bay timber Chinese Chippendale verandah with a moulded cornice and slate hipped roof. Early C19 two-leaf glazed doors to left and right with glazing bars and margin panes ; three first floor sashes with margin panes and louvred sun shutters. The entrance elevation on the left return has a good panelled front door into the front block with a semi-circular fanlight with spoke glazing bars, a round-headed reeded doorcase with block capitals and a shallow gabled porch with the roof supported on ornamental iron sides. one first floor 12-pane sash with louvred sun shutters, one ground floor 12-pane sash to left of door. The other elevations preserve C18 or C19 sashes and casements with a good 32 pane stair sash on the east elevation.
Interior: Not inspected but likely to contain C18 or C19 features intact.
A very unspoiled Georgian house.
