TQ 59 NW STAPLEFORD TAWNEY CHURCH ROAD 7/274 Great Tawney Hall 27/8/52 II
House, C17 double range, timber framed and weatherboarded and plastered rear with late Cl8/early Cl9 red bricked front. Red plain tiled roof. 2 storeys with stone coped parapet 5 window range of recessed surrounds with small paned vertical sliding sashes with horns. Gault brick gauged arches over. 7 steps, with plain baluster rails with acorn finials approach a 6 panelled door recessed with 4 segmented fanlight over and round head surround. Stone brackets to flat canopy. 4 symmetrically placed red brick chimney stacks. Right return is red tile hung. Internally are large, stop chamfered bridging joists to each room. Rainwater pipe with date 1762. Adjoins moated site.
