Cottage and P.O. Probably C17/C18 with C19 and later additions and alterations.
A post office was kept by a receiver at Passingford Bridge 1739. (By 1813 it
was on the daily ride between Epping and Ongar). Timber framed and weather-
boarded with grey slate roof. One storey and attics. There is a house, with
a crosswing to left, this crosswing with red brick outshot to left and red brick
chimney. It has a boarded loft door and a ground floor boarded door. 2 gabled
dormers to main range and a C19 3 light small paned casement to left. Central
of the dormers a gabled wing extends forward, it is outshot to left rear and
has an outshot, trellised walkway to right. 2 doors, one boarded to gabled
build and one half glazed to main range. The front of the centre range is
plastered and has a C19 small paned casement to attic and double boarded doors
with protection bars. 2 Gault brick chimney stacks to main range.
