The Dolphin Hotel GV II

Hotel. Mid C19 with C17 wing to north remodelled in early C19. Main south range to left: mid C19 knapped flint rubble with painted stone dressings. Slate roof with stone coped gable ends with moulded kneelers. Band at first floor level and plinth. Two storeys. Four/six bays. Sash windows with glazing bars in rusticated surrounds with keyblocks. To right of centre glazed door with rectangular fanlight in similar opening. Stone end chimney stacks with moulded caps. Set back to right (north): C17 stone rubble wing with early C19 remodelled stucco front, slate roof with stone coping to gable end. Three storeys. Two bays. Sash windows with glazing bars, right hand tripartite sashes, ground floor large modern bay window and plain doorway to left. North gable end is colourwashed stone rubble with stone quoins and moulded stringcourses, first and second floor three and two light (respectively) ovolo moulded stone mullion windows with dripmoulds, now blocked. Stringcourses continue into rear (north-west) wing which has similar moulded eaves cornice. C19 and modern wings at rear (west).
