Details
CATHEDRAL YARD 1. 1092 Nos 3 to 5 (consec) (Three Gables) SX 9192 NE 2/84 29.1.53 II GV 2. "Three Gables". Dated 1540, and said to have housed Cathedral craftsmen at this period. Three 4 storey 1 window plastered fronts on timber-framed houses, each with gable. 3rd floor windows are splayed oriels on brackets with leaded lights. No 3 has poor modern brick ground floor and windows above altered. No 4 has modern Tudor style ground floor and reproduction C17 oriels above. No 5 has early or mid-C19 shop front and Georgian sash windows to oriels. The timbering of the top storey is exposed at the side of No 5. Slate roof. A few internal features. All the listed buildings of Cathedral Yard and Nos 1 and 2 Deanery Place form a group.
