GV II
House, divided into flats. Early C19. Colourwashed and rendred, probably stone, slate roof behind parapet; end stacks. Plan: Double depth plan with steps up to a central entrance. Details of plan unclear at time of survey as interior not inspected. Exterior: 2 storeys and half basement. Symmetrical 3-bay front with a parapet with a moulded cornice, outer pilasters and 3-storey bow windows to left and right, original windows. Steps up to a central panelled front door with a deep rectangular fanlight and moulded eared architrave. Tripartite sash windows, the half-basement windows with moulded outer pilasters, the outer sashes 4-pane, the centre 6-pane. The ground floor windows have 4 over 2 pane outer sashes, 6 over 2 in the centre, the lower lights having lost some glazing bars; similar first floor windows. The centre window over the front door is a 6 over 2 pane sash (some lower glazing bars missing) with a moulded eared architrave. 3 attic dormers, the centre dormer possibly original. Interior: Not inspected but likely to have features of interest and original joinery. In a prominent position on the Strand, similar to the house adjoining at the right.
