House, now shop. Mid-C15, extended in C16 and altered in C20. Timber framed and plastered, with framing exposed on first floor front, roofed with handmade red plain tiles. Mid-C15 front range with C16 commercial range to rear, forming an L-plan. 2 storeys. Ground floor, C20 shopfront. First floor, 3 C19 sashes with marginal lights. Curved bracing trenched outside studs. 2 blocked original windows on first floor front. Stop-chamfered beams, arched-braced tiebeams, crownpost roof. Documentary evidence indicates that the rear range was built as weaving premises in 1566 (Wherein I Dwell, Earls Colne WEA, 1983, 50-1). RCHM 10.
