2. A church mainly of the C14-C15 with some C16 clerestorey windows which are mentioned in a will of 1527. It consists of a west tower, nave, with north and south aisles and chancel. There are chapels on the north-east, north-west and south. There are many C14 features and particularly notable is the south chapel with a fine early C14 kingpost roof with a quatrefoil post, moulded capital and 4-way braces. The chapel and chancel are separated by a 2-bay early C14 arcade. The nave arcades and chancel arch are circa 1400. The chancel and aisles have C14-C15 roofs and there are a number of C14 windows in the south aisle, the north wall of the north-west chapel and the south chapel. The west tower, with a stepped parapet and a spire, has angle buttresses and an early C14 window. The internal fittings include an early C16 altar tomb with cusped panels and an early C16 achievement of arms, both to the Tyrrel family. The church was restored in the C18 and C19. The church is sited away from the present village near the hall and former Guildhall. Graded for its architectural and historical value.
