House, now commercial premises. C14, C16 and C19. Timber framed, plastered, partly clad with painted brick, roofed with machine-made red plain tiles and slate. C14 2-bay hall with inserted floor and originally storeyed bays each end, and crosswing of c.1500 to left. Fragment of C16 stack. C17 and later extensions to rear. 2 storeys and one storey with attics. Ground floor, 2 late C19 sashes of 4 lights. First floor, one similar sash and one more in gabled dormer. The crosswing is jettied to the street, with a square bay of similar sashes below the jetty. C19 ornamental tile-hanging and dentilled bands in both gables. C19 moulded and dentilled bargeboards on right gable, moulded bargeboards on left gable. Much of the original frame is exposed internally. Smoke-blackened rafters above hall. Crownpost roof in crosswing (Wherein I Dwell, Earls Colne WEA, 1983, 41).
