TL 82 NW GREENSTEAD GREEN AND COLCHESTER ROAD HALSTEAD RURAL (north-east side)
5/143 Walls, railings and gate 10 metres west of Blue- 21.6.62 bridge House (Formerly listed as Gate & Iron railings in front of Blue- bridge House and Garden GV II Wa11) Walls, railings and gate. Late C17 or early C18. Cast and wrought iron, red brick and Portland stone. Wall at N end of site with sloping moulded brick coping and buttress strips, connecting with wall and railings forming the W boundary. This has spear-headed railings on a low wall either side of the gateway, and at each end are short lengths of high wall with diapering, terminated by square brick piers with moulded copings. Scrolled wrought iron gate, scrolled and foliate overthrow with initials J.M. (for John Morley) in wrought iron and lantern. 2 stone steps with console-shaped abutments.
