GV lodge
II
Mile post with later First World War memorial plaque. Circa 1880 by Sir
Ernest George and T Vaughan. Mile post in the form of a squat ashlar pier,
square on plan with a pyramidal cap and finial and a flower in the frieze
below the cap. Distances to nearby towns are inscribed on the sides in
Arts and Crafts lettering. Stands on a square base. Set into the south
side is a granite First World War memorial tablet.
