C17 timber-frame house encased in brick in late C17. Steeply pitched tiled roof. Two storeys and attic. Gabled cross wing at each end. Brick string courses. Seven bays. Mainly C17/18 two and 4-light mullion/transom casements in segmental-head openings. Three modern ground floor casements. To left of centre pilastered doorcase with entablature and panelled door. Large rebuilt chimney stack on right of centre block. Rainwater heads dated 1672, probably date of brick facing. C17 plastered timber frame wing at rear (north-east) with 3-light first floor mullion window.
Interior: front range contains good C17 dog-leg staircase with turned balusters, square newels with arched panel sides and with large ball finials, and heavy moulded string and rail. Ovolo moulded chamfers to ceiling beams. At rear of front range set into internal wall mutilated C17 classical columns with Ionic capitals.
