Details
WEST ANSTEY SLADE LANE SS 82 NW 1/50 Slade Farmhouse - 20.2.37 - II Farmhouse. Late C16 with possibly earlier origins, extensively altered since previous survey. Painted roughcast rendered stone rubble and cob. Asbestos slate roof with gable end. c20 brick stacks. Capped front lateral hall stack. Plan: 3-room and wide cross-passage containing staircase plan. Continuous single storey outshuts to rear. Leanto at right gable end. Exterior: 2 storeys. 4-window range. All C20 2-light casements. Large leanto C20 porch. Interior: extensively altered since last survey. C16 4-centred arched doorway with chamfered surround and old plank door between hall and cross-passage. Deep hollow chamfered cross-ceiling beam to hall. Axial chamfered ceiling beam to inner room, keyed to take plaster.
