HIGH STREET 885 (North West Side) BRAINTREE Nos 85 to 93 (odd) (The Boar's Head Hotel) TL 7522 1/118 II 2 A C15 timber-framed and plastered house, altered in the C16-C17 when an upper storey was inserted in the central hall, also. in the C18 and later, 2 storeys, The upper storey is jettied on the south-east front. 3 window range, paired double-hung sash windows with glazing bars, in flush cased frames on the first storey and C19 bay windows on the ground storey. Gabled wings extend at the rear. Roofs tiled, hipped on the front. RCHM (23).
