COLEBROOKE COLEBROOKE SS 70 SE 3/93 - Inscribed stone approximately 10 metres south of transept of Church of St Andrew

GV II

Inscribed stone. Probably late C18. Granite. Upright slab with wave-shaped head standing approximately 1.5 metres high and set on the east side of pitched cobble path leading from the south gate of churchyard to the church. It contains a slightly recessed front panel inscribed with Roman serif upper and lower case letters with a quote from the psalm 'Though I walk through the Valley of the Shadow of Death I will fear no evil'. Above, the panel and not centred, is the inscription 'Sepulchre' in Gothic lettering which might suggest that it is a reused gravestone.
