GV II
House. Late C17, altered in early C19. Timber framed, plastered, roofed with handmade red plain tiles. 3 bays facing SW, presenting oblique gable end to street. Internal stack near right end, against rear wall. C19 external stack to rear of left bay. C20 single-storey lean-to extension at right end, roofed with corrugated asbestos (subject to planning application at time of survey, February 1987). One storey with attics. 3 C20 casements, one small light to stair below eaves; one C19 casement in gabled dormer. C19 boarded door. Gable end to street, one-early C19 sash of 6 lights on each storey, late C19/early C20 serpentine bargeboards. In right bay, C17 large wood-burning hearth facing to right, disused; C19 smaller hearth back to back with it, away from rear wall; fragment of former bread oven forming recess in rear wall. The tiebeam to right is exposed externally, the tiebeam to left has rotated out of position; plain joists of vertical section supported on pegged clamp. In middle bay, chamfered axial beam, plain joists of vertical section jointed to it with soffit tenons with diminished haunches. Cross-wall to left, heavy studding with primary straight bracing, tiebeam severed for doorway. Left bay, waney axial beam, C20 grate, 2 early C19 corner cupboards with arched heads, attached to the building.
