GV II
Farmhouse. Early C18: minor alterations late Cl9. English bond
brickwork, slate roof to outer slopes, double Roman tiles to
valley. Five windows wide, 2 rooms deep, with added single-storey
lean-to behind, 2 1/2 storeys. Main front at right-angles to drive:
6-panel front door, bottom 3 flush, 2-pane rectangular fanlight,
flat porch roof on shaped brackets. Either side 2 two-light
mullion and transom windows, rubbed brick arches. Plain brick
string course, 5 windows above, all as ground floor; coved
plastered eaves. Two hipped dormers, one each end, each with 2-
light casement. 'M' roof, with small centre valley. External
brick chimneys each end to front rooms, on left only to rear.
Right return, adjoining drive: 2-light window to cellar on left of
chimney, to right stone steps down to boarded door to cellar,
cambered brick arch: 2-light window to cellar to right. Above, 2-
light window covered gauze, to ground floor, cambered brick arch.
Similar opening above, but infilled render. To right, gable of
later rear lean-to. Internally, panelled shutters to front ground-
floor windows: moulded string and handrail to stairs, turned
balusters, square newels. Exposed chamfered beam to ceiling, rear
room on left; cyma moulding to windows, iron opening light.
