20/154 Sugley Farmhouse

GV II

Detached farmhouse. Mid-late C17, altered late C18; early C20 addition to east end. Random rubble limestone; ashlar chimneys with later rebuilding; stone slate roof. Two-storey with attic, lower 2-storey part at west end. South front: 2-window fenestration to main part, all timber windows with iron casements and timber lintels. Central doorway with C20 door and flat porch hood on brackets. Two gabled dormers. Lower part to left was former stable, left gabled doorway altered to casement. Two lean- to additions to ground floor. Rear (road) side: one full gable with artificial stone rebuilt chimney. Small casements to right, one 2-light recessed cavetto mullioned with hoodmould. Casement with timber lintel in former doorway. Former stable to right altered to form part of house with inserted casements. C20 addition to left is pebbledashed with large projecting gabled porch. Upper floor iron balcony to east end. Interior not inspected. Barn on opposite side of road (q.v.).
