Throop House
II House of early C18 origin, enlarged c1869. Brick walls, incorporating some earlier ironstone walling in lower parts - possibly remains of an earlier building. Main wing has low-pitched slate roof, older, rear wing thatched. Brick stacks, Main wing adjoining road C19. Two storeys. Part-glazed panelled door in timber porch. Ground floor has three casement windows with cast iron lights. First floor has four similar windows. Rear, kitchen wing, early C18, has one storey and attics. Casement windows with glazing bars. Low brick wall to front boundary with a fence of timber posts and hanging chains. South of the house, a brick and cob boundary wall with tile capping. RCHM Monument 31.
