Large house; late C16, early C18, 1897 (datestone). C16 timber- framed, high stone plinth, painted brick nogging; Flemish bond brickwork, tile hanging to first floor (rear); 1897 Flemish-bond brickwork, stone dressings, timber-framing with white panels first floor. Tiled roof. H plan, 6 windows wide, 2 room deep centre link, 2 storey. Entrance front: C16 wing on right, horizontal panels, two per floor. Six-light mullioned window, leaded lights each floor, gable end; decorative infill to panels lower half gable, surface scalloping to bargeboards. Left return two 3-light casement windows per floor, leaded lights, weatherboard sill, applied bolection-moulded frames. Rest of front 1897: plinth: 6- panelled double door to porch, 3 stone steps: Tudor arch over, sunk spandrels, hoodmould. To right, set back, 3-light mullion and transom window, 2-light mullion beyond. To left single-storey infill, 4-light mullion and transom, with plain stone coping over. Left gable, similar window, all ground floor leaded lights. First floor fairly close studded timber framing, 2 unequal panels high. False Venetian window to porch, coved jetty over at collar level in gable; bargeboards as right wing, terracotta finial. To right two 3-light casement, large pane below, subdivided above; to left 4- light similar. In gable 4-light mullion and transom window, decorative framing below sill level and immediately above window, herringbone strutting in gable. Bargeboards as porch. Chimney left return and on ridge at junction with cross wing. Rear: 1897 gable on right, early C18 brick gable, recessed wing and gable to left: right gable plain string course; large semi-circular headed window rises through gable: paired sashes bottom, wide glazing bars, top small, matching panes: brick arch. Below cambered brick arch to built-up opening to cellar. Above dentil course at collar level, tile-hanging over. Doorway on left return. Double sash window on left, wide glazing bars; 6-panelled door up 2 stone steps on left, under open timber porch, moulded edge to top. Projecting gable beyond, brick plinth, sash window, wide glazing bars, cambered brick arch over cutting string course. First floor, dentil course to centre, stepping up over door: tile hanging above, 3-light and 4-light mullioned windows: Left gable 3-light mullioned window, cambered brick arch over; dentil course at collar level, tile hanging above with 2-light window in apex. Further, low 1897 wing on left. Interior not inspected.
