14/242 Group of 4 mainly King family monuments in the churchyard approximately 8m south east of chancel arch

Chest tombs and 1 pedestal tomb. Early C17-early C19. Limestone to chest tombs, sandstone to pedestal tomb. Group comprises: 3 chest tombs, 1 with plain ends, ovolo moulded top and chamfered base inscribed in capitals with recessed background on south side: 'HERE RESTETH THE BODY OF / VRSVLA THE WIFE OF RICHARD KINGE WHO DECE / ASED THE 30 OF IVLY ANNO / DOMINI 1630'; further early inscription on west end and brass plate on east end to John King, died of the Small-pox, 1794; 1 lyre ended chest tomb, inscribed to Charles King, date illegible, and chest tomb with gadrooned corner balusters, inscribed to ROBERT BALL, died 17--. Pedestal tomb with oval side panels, inscribed to WILLIAM KING, died 1763.
