5/55 Group of 3 table-tombs to south west of Holy Rood Church GV II
Group of 3 table-tombs (1) lm south of south aisle to west of porch. Probably early C18. Ashlar, cavetto moulded flat top with rounded ends. One end bears cartouche with coat of arms, other bears skull and crossbones with batswings. Inscription in rectangular panel flanked by side panels bearing hourglasses and crossed bones. (2) and (3) are approximately 2 m south west of south west aisle corner. Probably C18. Stone, ridged tops with cyma moulds and rectangular panels. One has fluted angle pilasters and divided side panels. Both appear to be to members of the Hopkins family. RCHM, Dorset, vol III, p 50, no 1.
