Free standing house. C16. Limestone rubble, but with pebble-dash on timber frame to street front, stone slate roof, with coped gable at left end only, and here fine ashlar stack with split flues, moulded capping and skirt. A broad-span block with deep wing back, right, and planning modified from original. Front is two gabled, 1½ storey 2-windowed: at first floor 4-light oak ovolo mould casements slightly projected forward from their framed wall, over C19 2-light casements with one horizontal bar; in right gable two C19 casements at first floor and 3-light stone mullioned casement with stopped drip at ground floor. Back includes small dormers, and to south gable small square light, over 3-light casement at first floor, and the same, with stopped drip at ground floor, plain reserved chamber mullions. Dormer at back of main block over 3-light casement in position formerly occupied by door. Entrance door in east gable, elliptical cham- fered head and chamfered jambs, plank door; C20 door also in back wing. Interior, deep fireplace with solid stone cheeks, new bressummer, east end, central very deep chamfered longitudinal beam, chamfered and stopped joists, some timberframed walling. In upper room, back, fireplace with big 4-centre chamfered stone lintol.
