13/84 Church of All Saints 14.7.55 GV II*
Parish Church, chancel c.1400, nave and tower C15, some refenestration and alterations both C16 and C18, general restoration, north aisle, south chapel and north porch 1873. Banded ashlar and flint with ashlar dressings, tiled roofs with stone gable copings. Plan: nave, chancel; west tower; north aisle; north porch; south chapel. West tower: partially rebuilt C18; 2 stages separated by ashlar plat-band; diagonal and square-set buttresses; 2-light C15 west window with square head with chamfered loop above; C18 east belfry window of 2-lights flanked by reset medieval head stops; reset C15 west belfry window of 2-lights in pointed head; plain parapet above moulded string with gargoyles. Nave: C19 north window of 3-lights under square head; south wall has 2 medieval, 3-light square headed windows. Chancel: C18 lancets of one and 2 lights to north and south walls; C18 east window of 3 graduated lancets; south wall has restored medieval with chamfered, pointed head and continuous jambs. The aisle and chapel have C19 one, 2 and 3-light windows with curvilinear tracery. C19 open, gabled timber porch.
Internal features: pointed chancel arch of 2 chamfered orders, the outer continuous and the inner dying into the responds; pointed tower arch of a single chamfered order continuous with the jambs; 2 bay arcade with segmental pointed arches of 2 chamfered orders, the outer continuous with the responds and square pier; segmental barrel roof to chancel; C19 braced scissor-truss roof with ashlar pieces to nave; C19 collar-truss roof to aisle; late C17 octagonal pulpit with 2 heights of fielded panelling and enriched cornice; C12 font with tapering square bowl with 4 rounded headed panels per side on plain centre shaft with 4 cornershafts; C19 monuments; other features largely C19 or C20.
