BARRINGTON GREAT BARRINGTON VILLAGE SP 2013-2113 (north side) 10/45 No 2 (formerly listed as Nos 2 and 3) 23.1.52 GV II Former pair of semi-detached cottages, now one. Mid-late C17. Coursed squared and dressed limestone with large dressed quoins. Stone slate roof, ashlar stacks. Rectangular plan with gable-end to the road. Small lean-to forming an entrance along part of the left-hand return. Two storeys. Two 2-light stone-mullioned casements to its gable end facing the road. Casement to upper floor double-chamfered with stopped hood and early leaded panes. Stone-mullioned casement on the ground floor C18-C19 in date. C19 plank door to lean-to to left of the gable end. Two and 3-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned casements to the right-hand return. All casements on the ground floor with stopped hoods. Two blocked doorways with flat-chamfered surrounds with ogee steps. C19 plank door with a rectangular pane at the top. Timber lintel to the doorway. Axial and gable-end stacks with cappings and skirtings. Interior not inspected. (Barrington Park Estate - empty at time of resurvey - June 1986).
