APPLETON-LE-STREET WITH CONEYSTHORPE TO MALTON SE 77 SX EASTHORPE ROAD (south side) 4/13 Gate piers and screen Walls (Formerly listed as 25.1.54 Easthorpe Hall including gate piers ) - II 4 gate piers and screen walls. c1770. Probably by John Carr. Piers of sandstone ashlar; walls of hammer-dressed sandstone, with tooled plinth and coping. Piers approximately 2.25 metres high, of alternately long and short quoins forming rusticated bands; stepped pyramidal caps, the inner ones with ball finials. Quadrant walls approximately 2 metres high, with flat coping. The outer left pier is overgrown with creeper. Entrance to the former Easthorpe Hall, c1770, probably by John Carr, now demolished.
