- II
House, outbuildings and forge; now house. Early C18 with late C18 extension and C20 modernisation. Coursed rubble sandstone with limestone quoins; pantile roof with brick stacks. 3-cell hearth-passage plan; outshut added. 3-window front of 2 low storeys. C20 board door beneath divided overlight, to right of centre. Ground-floor windows are 3-light, small-pane horizontal sliding sashes; similar 2-light windows to first floor. Thin timber lintels to all openings. End and right of centre stacks. Rear: single-storey outshut with 2-light, small-pane horizontal sliding sashes. In the forge, to rear of attached outbuildings, now incorporated into house, the brick- built hearth and firehood survive. Interior: chamfered beams visible throughout ground floor. Several surviving cupboards have H-L and L hinges.
