House, now 2 dwellings. Mid C18 probably with earlier origins; extended late C18; altered and subdivided late C19. House of squared sandstone with herringbone-tooled quoins, slate roof and rebuilt brick stacks. Extension partly red brick with pantile roof and brick stacks. 3-cell, cross-passage house with later extensions to right and to front. Entrance front: 2- storey, 5-bay front, the end bays single storey and extended forward. Right of centre door of 6 raised and fielded panels in painted raised and keyed surround with added pedimented door-hood. 16-pane sashes in similar surrounds to gable ends of projecting wings and to first floor. End and centre left stacks. To right, 1½ storey, L-shaped extension, with 4-panel door and overlight beneath flat arch, and 2-light, 12-pane horizontal sliding sashes. Garden front: 2-storey, 4-window front, with single storey and attic extension to left. Door of 6 recessed panels in raised keyed surround within C20 gabled porch. Unequal 15-pane sash over door and 16- pane sashes to remaining windows. Painted raised surrounds to ground-floor windows. First-floor windows have painted heavy lintels replacing keyed lintels, traces of which remain. Coped gables and shaped kneelers. End and right of centre stacks. Extension has ground-floor window with heavy tooled lintel, and flat dormer to attic. Coped gable and shaped kneeler to left. Centre stack. Gable end to extension: 4-pane sash beneath keyed segmental arch and painted stone sill to ground floor. 2-light, 12-pane horizontal- sliding sash to first floor. Interior: open-string, dog-leg staircase rises to attic; turned balusters and newels, moulded, ramped-up handrail, and shaped tread ends. The ground-floor room to end left has panelled window recesses and shutters. Ground-floor cross-passage doors are of 6 recessed moulded panels. On the first floor there are several doors of 6 raised and fielded panels.
