Barn, stables and shelter shed about 20 yards north-west of Orleton Court

Barn, stables and shelter shed. Mid-C18 with mid-C19 alterations. Brick
with dentilled eaves cornices and hipped plain tiled roofs. U-plan.
Barn: six bays aligned north-east/south-west forms central range; wagon
bay second from north-east end and access archway second from south-west
end; both have opposed cart entries with cambered heads. Header ventilation
courses throughout. South-west end bay has a door and loft opening in its
south-east forward projection. Interior: roof has intermediate king-post
trusses and collar and tie-beam trusses with raking struts. Stables: situated
to north-east of barn; roughly eight bays; two levels; header ventilation
courses at upper level; openings,all have.cambered heads; south-west farm-
yard elevation has eight ground floor windows (two of which are blocked),
eight doors, four loft openings (one of which is blocked) and a loft door.
Interior: roof has king-post trusses. Shelter shed: situated to south-west
of barn; ten bays articulated by brick piers with chamfered corners to its
south-west elevation; three external chimneys with offsets to north-east
farmyard elevation added when building was used as hop pickers' accommodation.
Interior: roof has tie-beam trusses with raking struts (much of timber in
roof is re-used and includes probable former cruck blades).
