6/194 Home Farmhouse and adjoining wall to the south

GV II

Farmhouse and adjoining wall. Mid-C18 with mid-C19 and mid-C20 alterations and additions. Brick with hipped plain tiled roof and a brick stack to front and rear of ridge. Two storeys with dentilled eaves cornice. Four bays (two bays plus two-bay addition). Ground floor has round-headed 6-pane window to left and a 2-light casement; first floor has a 3-light, a 2-light and a single-light casement and another round-headed window in the second bay from the left; beneath the latter is the main entrance which has a ledged and battened door and narrow side lights. Lean-to beneath catslide roof at right gable end has a 2-light casement to its front elevation. Wall adjoins this lean-to addition and runs south for about 12 yards where it adjoins the dairy (qv). It is about 7 feet high and has a dentilled eaves cornice. At the north end is a blind round-headed archway with imposts and a pedimented gable above. Part of the Winnington Estate and former home farm to Stanford Court (qv).
