Details
UGTHORPE A171 NZ 70 NE 7/256 (south-west side) off Wood Hill House and 6.10.69 attached barn.
II Farmhouse and barn. C17 with alterations, the earliest dated 1737 over door lintel with initials GH (George Hartas). Coursed lightly-tooled sandstone. Roof now of concrete tiles with stone copings, kneelers and stacks. Hearth- passage entry plan with downhouse at right and barn at left. 2 storeys; house 3 bays, irregular, barn 1 bay, downhouse 2 bays, of lower roof line. Blocked passage door under flattened Tudor arch, and C20 window inserted. Plain C20 window above. Right bay concealed by projection. In main house one blocked chamfered and quoined ground-floor window and one small first floor sash; other- wise blank. Stepped eaves; curved kneelers, end stacks to house and at right of downhouse. External stone steps to loft door in barn at left. Rear elevation: passage door in chamfered surround with flattened Tudor arch. Round-headed window above and blocked fire window to right. other windows large and C20. Barn has stable door in chamfered surround, and inserted door at left.
