GV II
Pair of cottages. C17 with mid-C19 and mid-C20 alterations. Timber- framed, painted brick and rendered infill, brick replacement walling, high sandstone plinth, asbestos roof, rebuilt external brick stack at east gable end, also brick stack to front of ridge at centre. Four framed bays; single storey and attic with dormers. Framing: three square panels from sill to wall-plate, short straight braces in upper corners and collar- and-tie-beam trusses with queen struts at gable ends. Front elevation facing south: left side cottage has two 3-light casements, a gabled dormer with 2- light casement and a C20 lean-to glazed porch and a ledged and battened door; right side cottage has a 3-light and a 2-light casement, a gabled dormer with 2-light casement and a C20 gabled timber-framed porch and door. Attic lights in gable ends. Interior: roof has single row of trenched purlins and intermediate collar-and-tie-beam trusses with queen struts; winder staircases retained.
