House. Probably early C17 with C18 and C19 remodelling. Coursed squared pink/grey gritstone, graduated stone slate roof. 2-storey, 3-bay main range with lower 2-storey bay to left. Plinth and quoins. Main range: inserted board door to left of centre has 3-pane overlight; blocked doorway far left. Recessed chamfered mullioned windows throughout, the mullions of wood. 2- and 3-light windows to ground floor, 4, 3 and 3-light windows to first floor. String course to first-floor level, moulded eaves cornice, shaped kneelers and gable copings; external stack left, forward of ridge, and right; a large 3-flue stack on rear wall right of centre. Right return: 5- light recessed chamfered mullion window to first floor; the eaves cornice is carried round as a hoodmoulding over 2 pairs of round-headed lights. 2- storey bay to left: C20 three-light mullion windows. Shaped kneeler, gable coping and end stack to left. Interior not inspected at resurvey. North Yorkshire and Cleveland Vernacular Buildings Study Group Report Number 396 (1977).
