GREAT GADDESDEN LEIGHTON BUZZARD ROAD (A4146) TL 0310 (West side) 10/136 Nos. 16, and 18/19 26.1.67 (formerly listed as No 16 Water End, No 17 Water End, No 18 Water End and No 19, Water End) GV II
2 houses, sometime 4 cottages, now 2 houses again. Early C18, W-extension mid C19. Timber frame with red brick infill. Brick N extension. Steep old red tile roofs. A 2-storeys, 4 structural bays, block facing N with integral rear outshuts topped by 4 gables, and single-storey W extension. Front has 4 windows to each floor. Flush 2-light lattice leaded casements. 3 plank doors in heavy frames, each adjoining a ground floor window and with a C19 gabled hood on curved brackets. Chamfered heavy frame to plank door into extension with similar chamfered frame to single-light window on left. Long 4-lights similar window under relieving arch on W gable with circular window over. 4 windows in rear gables. Trellis gabled rear porches and 2-light and 3-light lattice casement windows. Frame has unjowled posts, long straight tension braces to upper part of front wall.
