House now two dwellings. c1700 with later additions and alterations including single-storey range to rear of no special interest. Probably by John Etty of York. Reddish-brown brick in English bond with ashlar dressings and slate roof.
Two storeys, with attics, seven bays, window bays project slightly. Plinth with moulded ashlar coping. Quoins. Central entrance a six-fielded- panel door within moulded architrave with frieze with floral scrolls and consoles supporting broken pediment with plinth for bust. Eighteen-pane sashes to ground floor and first floor under flat arches of gauged brick. Overhanging eaves with modillions. Pedimented roof dormers have twelve-pane Yorkshire sashes. Ridge stacks. Hipped roof with central well. To rear a 35-pane unequally-hung sash with radial glazing to head under round brick arch with ashlar keystone and imposts. To east facade an eight-panel door in Gibbs surround with devil mask keystone.
Interior. Substantial remains of original interior including dogleg staircase with vase-on-ball balustrade and large ball finials to newel posts, also first- and second-floor flights of similar service staircase. Moulded panelling, ceilings and fireplaces remain to most rooms. Panelled doors, some with shouldered architraves. Not fully inspected.
