House, now 3 commercial properties and a house. C17 or earlier SE block with 3 later C17 uniform gabled lower W extensions in a row, brick casing to SE block on E and S c.1700, C18 NE gambrel roofed extension (now part of Moat Cottage), C19 low NW extension to No.30, (NE block of Moat Cottage c.1960 not of special interest). Timber frames roughcast, but dark weatherboarding to Moat Cottage and rear gables of SE block. Tilehung gables to W front with scalloped tiles. Roughcast brick casing to SE block. Old red tile roofs, hipped at SE and gambrel roof to older part of Moat Cottage. Symmetrical E front 3 windows wide with central door. Recessed sash windows with 6/6 panes in tall openings with segmental heads. Door with rectangular fanlight. Gabled dormer on gambrel roof of weatherboarded range projecting on N. 3-gabled W front has low black stucco plinth, smooth plaster apron and roughcast walls. One window to each floor in each part. 3:2:3-light flush casement windows. Half glazed doors to shops at Nos. 28A and 30. S shop with S side entrance has exposed beams and C18 ceiling cornice.
