House. C16, heightened to 2 storeys over hall and parlour in mid C17, service room at N heightened to 2 storeys under a separate roof in C20. Timber frame roughcast on stucco plinth. Steep old red tile roof, stepping down at N part. A 3-cell plan house facing E with central-chimney and lobby-entry a third from S end. Diagonally set conjoined shafts to central chimney above irregular rectangular base with moulded capping. Hipped rear wing at W encloses stair in position of former stair turret. 3 windows, 2 storeys E front with flush casement windows (renewed) and gabled porch. Interior has axial beams chamfered and stopped, exposed thin close-studding, long curved braces to side wall and gable end on 1st floor, jowled bay posts in centre of gable, and high-set purlins. An oven opens from the W jamb of the hall fireplace. Small 2-light blocked window with diamond mullion over front door. (RCHM (1911) 38: RCHM Typescript).
