Cottage. Probably part of a larger building now lost or perhaps part of Manor Fara (qv). C16 altered C17, altered extensively early C20. Perhaps an open hall house. Colourwashed random rubble, double Roman tile roof, overhanging eaves with sprockets, brick stacks left and right. 2-storeys, 2 bays; first floor early C20 2-light casement windows, groundfloor canted bay, plain tiled pentice roof, sash windows with marginal glazing bars right, single light C20 window left of gabled, tiled, random rubble porch with C20 plank door. Interior: most surprising after the exterior; from the regular placement of plasterwork fleur de lys and roses between chamfered beams with runout stops, the groundfloor appears to have been originally one large room. On upper floor the right gable end carries an unidentified coat of arms in a strap work surround, 2 pairs of jointed crucks are visible. The history of the evolution of the house is unclear. (VAG Report, unpublished SRO, October 1975).
