SE 24 NW LEATHLEY LEATHLEY LANE (west side) 4/40 Manor House
6.2.52 II
House. C17 and C18. Coursed gritstone, graduated stone slate roof. 2 storeys, 3 bays. Quoins. C19, 6-panel door with moulded surround to right of central bay, C20 gabled porch. Sash with glazing bars to left of door. To left again and to right: 3-light flat-faced mullion window with central sashes and 8-pane side-lights. Central Venetian window to first floor. Moulded band at first-floor level, coved eaves cornice, external stack to right, ridge stack left. Right return - a lintel with date 1620 over C20 glazed door to left of external stack. Probably removed from main entrance when porch added. Leathley Hall (qv) was apparently the manor house until the manor was sold mid-late C18 to the Fawkes of Farnley Hall. This building may have been the manor farm originally.
