NESFIELD WITH LANGBAR GILL LANE SE 14 NW (north side, off) 9/61 High Austby Cottage - II

House. Mid C17 with C19 and C20 restoration and addition. Coursed squared gritstone rubble, graduated stone slate roof. 2 storeys, 6 bays, with projecting porch and semicircular stair bays 4 and 5. Wide C20 board door to porch, with wooden lintel. Recessed chamfered mullion windows throughout; to left of porch, ground floor: narrow light far left, 4-, now 2-light window, and 3-, now 2-light window. First floor: small light far left; 2 inserted C19 windows: left, a side-sliding sash with 3-light wooden frame and having the remains of a recessed chamfer to left jamb, and on right an 8-pane casement; both with wooden lintels. Windows to right of porch: a narrow light in stair turret, a 4-, now 3-light window, and an inserted C20 window; first floor: 4-, now 3-light window. Far right - large stepped external stack, the corniced shaft rebuilt; ridge stack opposite front door, and a smaller stack between bays 1 and 2. Interior: bay 3 - a wide cambered-arched fireplace with chamfer to jambs and voussoirs.
